Do not be alarmed! That great "whoosing" sound that you heard tonight was the wind being taken out of the sails of the likes of Lush Bimbo and Sean Insanity! I could not believe my ears when I was listening to the Shrub's press conference tonight. He came out and flatly stated that his nominees were being blocked because of their judicial philosophies NOT because they are "people of faith"! What the fuck are Rush and the like going to do now? Their whole argument for the last several weeks was that we Dems are Godless heathens and the only reason for blocking the judges with the filibuster was because we were afraid of them! Now their Annointed one comes out on national TV during prime time and tells the world that Rush and his people are full of shit and that he believes that a non-believer can be just as patriotic as anybody else! I may have to listen to the great windbag tomorrow just to hear how he tries to backpeddle out of this! Best of luck you fat ass blow hard! You've been called out on the carpet! For five years we've been subjected to rants about how you are never wrong and how Bush is never wrong, now you seem to be on opposite sides. Who was wrong jackass? Are you going to be man enough to admit it?

Another shining example of how our illustrious leader says one thing to make himself look good and rally his rightwing, neo-con, religious zealot robots but actually lies to our faces with impunity and works behind our backs to screw the American soldier along with the rest of us. Case in point, During King George's fathers war, which by the way I supported and still think was the right thing to do, Colonel Clifford Acree and 16 other American soldiers were captured and held as prisoners of war in Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq between January and March 2001. I April of 2002 these POWs and their close family members filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against the Republic of Iraq, the Iraqi Intelligence Service and Saddam Hussein in his official capacity as President of Iraq, for personal injuries suffered by them and their family members as a result of their treatment by Iraq. Their complaint details brutal and inhumane acts of physical and psychological torture suffered during their captivity, including beatings starvation and mock executions among other violent and shocking acts.
This was all done in accordance with the U.S. legal code based on the terrorism exception of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act which states that money damages can be sought against a foreign state for personal injury or death that was caused by an act of torture. This only applies if the defendant foreign state was designated as a state sponsor of terrorism at the time the alleged acts of torture occurred. The Republic of Iraq was designated as a state sponsor of terrorism on September 13, 1990.
Not surprisingly, the Republic of Iraq did not show up in court and a default judgment was handed down in favor of the 17 American servicemen and their families. A judgment to the tune of $959 Million Dollars! So you think "Good for them!", "They deserve it after what they went through!" right? Well according to the Bush administration. NO. When the servicemen applied to the U.S. Treasury for a lien against the assets of Iraq that were frozen by the U.S., they were told by the Bush-Bots in the State and INJustice departments, that the money would be better spent paying Halliburton for rebuilding war ravaged Iraq rather than securing the future for these servicemen and their families.

You've got your buddies at Halliburton making a freakin' mint by overcharging the U.S. on their NO BID CONTRACT that you and DICK Cheney shoved through Congress, and your incompetent people on the ground over there go and lose 9 BILLION DOLLARS IN FUCKING CASH! Yet you can't see fit to give 17 U.S. Servicemen who went through Hell 1/10th of that? What a piece of work you are Mr. Bush! How can you sleep at night? Doesn't it bother you that you are the most incompetent S.O.B. ever to hold that office.

I find this last quote to be very telling indeed. If you listen to what he is saying, Colin Powell was telling us back in May of 2003 that we didn't have any evidence yet, but he was confident that we would find it. Was this just a Freudian slip, or was he actually trying to telegraph something to the American people? Who knows, but it doesn't matter now does it?

Now before all the right wing, ditto-head, goose stepping gestapo robots go off questioning my patriotism, let me tell you that I served for nearly 10 years in the military before breaking my back jumping out of airplanes put an end to my career. I was a Republican once, before I traveled the world and met people from all walks of life and discovered what was really important in this world. The people, not the money. I love my country, I would die for my country, but I cannot support this fraud of a president and his criminal cabinet. Patriotism, my friends., is defined as a love for ones country, not the figurehead puppet that is running it.
During this last election cycle, the hyper-conservative, flag draped, right wing airbags were all screaming about how John Kerry would destroy the CIA if given half a chance. Specifically of note was the Bush ad claiming that John Kerry would throw us to the wolves. The ad claims Kerry supported cuts in intelligence “so deep they would have weakened America ’s defenses” against terrorists. Actually, the cut Kerry proposed in 1994 amounted to less than 4 percent, as part of a proposal to cut many programs to reduce the deficit.

Furthermore, Kerry never proposed a single $6-billion cut in intelligence spending. He did propose S.1826 which included a $1-billion cut in 1994. That measure also would have frozen intelligence spending at that reduced level through 1998, allowing it to rise only by the rate of inflation. That could fairly be called a $5-billion cut spread over five years. Total intelligence spending is a classified figure, but was estimated at the time to be $27 billion per year. So, --the cut Kerry proposed amounted to an estimated 3.7 percent, hardly a proposal to "slash" expenditures. That measure was debated on the Senate floor and on Feb 10,1994 it was defeated 75-20 with 38 Democratic Senators voting against it. The following year Kerry introduced another deficit-reduction package, S.1290. This one would have lowered the ceiling for intelligence spending by $300 million for five years starting in 1996. That would have amounted to a reduction of just over 1 percent of estimated intelligence spending.
What the ad doesn't tell you is that Porter Goss, King Georges new CIA toady co-sponsored a draconian, deficit-elimination bill in 1995 that would have cut the number of CIA employees by 20 percent or more over five years. Goss wasn't the main author, he signed onto an 1,188-page bill authored by Gerald Solomon, the chairman of the House Rules Committee, of which Goss was a member. The measure died without a hearing as it called for elimination of the Departments of Education, Energy and Commerce among other things. When questioned about his co-sponsorship of the bill during his confirmation hearings in September Goss said only, "the record speaks for the record."
As far as the war in Iraq goes, don't even get me started. One of the things that bothers me the most is how everybody confuses the war against terrorism with the war in Iraq. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING! I supported the war on terror and still do. I believe that we did the right thing by invading Afghanistan when we did and going after Osama Bin Laden (remember him?). When I heard that we would be invading Iraq, I could not believe what I was hearing. Anybody with half a brain (which obviously excludes the current president) could tell you that there was more terrorists in Pakistan than Iraq. The war in Iraq is nothing more than a war for oil. We were lied to about the connection between Iraq and the Taliban, we were lied to about the impending threat, and we were lied to about the weapons of mass destruction. Thousands of American serviceman's lives and countless thousands of Iraqi lives have been wasted because an arrogant Son of a Bitch has a Napoleon complex and wants to rule the world!
He has alienated us from the rest of the world with his brash comments, ignorance of the nuances of diplomacy, and cowboy attitude. America used to be the place that everybody looked up to and wanted to come to. Now, we are one of the most hated counties on Earth. His domestic policies are just as horrendous. Trampling on the civil liberties of all Americans and shoving the "Patriot Act" through Congress and the Senate, his unfunded "No Child Left Behind", his privatization of Social Security and his wanting to give Federal funding to religious organizations all spell the decline and destruction of the things that once made this country great. If things keep going the way they are, I fear that soon it will be illegal to burn a flag but okay to burn a witch in this country. The world turned its back on reason and knowledge and turned to nothing but religion once before, it was a time that we now call the dark ages. I fear that I see the shadow looming in our future again.
In 1776, our forefathers stated in their Declaration of Independence that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." I am starting to believe that it is time for a second American Revolution to overthrow another King George!
Let me state right now, I AM NOT ADVOCATING VIOLENCE OF ANY SORT OR FASHION AGAINST THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT. What I am advocating is that the American people stand up and tell the government that we are fed up as Hell and not going to take it any more. Fight with your voices, not your fists.
